Antarctica

R500.00

The first piece in a series I would like to call “Big Skies”. Antarctica is fascinating and I have a friend who is one of a small group of people to have spent some time there, listening to the glacier run-off beneath your feet, experiencing the insane blizzards and the smelly penguins, it feels like the furthest away you can be, while still being on Earth. Fascinating.

This lino print attempts to describe the vastness and isolation of the Antarctic Ice Shelf by dedicating the majority of the surface to an extravagent cloud formation. The work is derived from a photograph approaching the ice shelf, the cloud formation is completely made up.
